Chris Innes - Principal

Originally from Bundaberg, after finishing his Bachelor of Physiotherapy University of Queensland (St Lucia), Chris went straight into private practice at a busy clinic in Redcliffe, which serviced The Redcliffe Dolphins and both the Redcliffe Hospital and Peninsula Private Hospital (in a part-time capacity). He continued his professional development by participating in numerous courses during this time.

In 2000 Chris and his employer went into partnership, taking over an existing practice at Morayfield, known as Morayfield Gardens Physiotherapy. Within 3 years he was the sole owner and steadily building a loyal client base within this growing community. Over the last 17 years, Chris has seen thousands of clients, and spent over 35,000 hours treating their various conditions and injuries.

He has also completed post graduate training in sports physiotherapy (Member of Sports Physio Australia), exercise therapy and rehabilitation, manual therapy for the spine and more recently he has begun to specialise in the complex area of headaches.

He is driven to provide a personal, hands-on service to clients. It is an ethos that he demands from all the staff, and this will always be something that defines the Body Plus Physio practice.

Annie Helwig
BPhty – Physiotherapist, Member of APA

Annie

Annie is our newest member, having graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the Australian Catholic University in 2013 as part of their inaugural year. She has worked as both a community and private practice physiotherapist in different parts of Australia.

To date her favourite experience has been in Darwin where she worked as a rural generalist – seeing patients with musculoskeletal problems, sports injuries, developmental paediatrics, women’s health and post-op orthopaedic rehab. However she reports that nothing is as good as returning home to Caboolture.

Most of her experience is in sports physiotherapy, whereby she has travelled with elite sports teams to various events, and designed preseason fitness programs for individual athletes and local clubs. It is her goal to continue to build upon her experience and skill set, which in the future will include dry needling, lymphedema management and women’s health.

In her spare time Annie enjoys being active and healthy, participating in activities like bushwalking, fishing, hockey and socialising with family. Her highest personal achievement thus far has been touring Indonesia and Malaysia as part of the Australian Country Development side for hockey.

Mitchell Donaldson

Mitch is the youngest and newest member of the Body Plus Physio team, having completed his degree through the Australian Catholic University, with his final clinical placement here at the clinic at the end of 2016.  He accepted a position with us not long after he received his final marks from Annie and Chris.

During his degree, he became fastidiously involved in the local community, specifically the sporting teams. The Moreton Bay Lions football club has been gaining from his help and knowledge since 2013.  He has experienced many acute and chronic overuse injuries in this setting, while working alongside physiotherapists and other health professionals, to optimize the recovery and health of the athletes in his care.  Since graduation, Mitch has not stopped in his sporting endeavors outside the clinic, having travelled with other sporting teams from touch football to OzTag and National Netball tournaments.

He reports that his clinical placement here with Annie and Chris has opened his eyes to a new and higher standard of physiotherapy care, which has spurred him into action to improve himself.  It is his goal to continually strive to bring his skills to the highest standard in the musculoskeletal discipline of physiotherapy.  He is passionate about applying these skills in both the sport and work specific rehabilitation, as well as complete further post graduate training in shoulder and hip condition management.

In his spare time, Mitch is a keen surfer with spending a lot of time keeping active, and playing sport locally.
